  • Conduct programs offered by the Institute’s School of Music.
  • ​Set your own syllabus requirements/course content
  • Choose the style or genre you want to teach.  
  • Have your students' music awards reflect the style or genre studied                                                               (e.g. Grade 5 in Contemporary Music Studies - Saxophone or Grade 7 in Jazz Studies - Piano). 

  • Receive support (via Professional Access) to achieve higher qualifications and professional designations. 
  • Receive financial incentives to promote your own practice.
  • Conduct courses and workshops for professional development and higher level subjects. 
  • Receive support to conduct accredited programs in your area of expertise.

Pre-requisite: CPM registration (see Professional Development Stage 1)

This affiliation affords connection with other schools and teachers wishing to conduct these or similar programs.  Some of our programs include:

  • Australian Children’s Orchestra & Chorus

  • National Youth Orchestra (Australia)
  • Residency Program (soloists & groups) etc.

Affiliates may also conduct:

  • Examination Centres

  • Music schools

  • Competitions/Eisteddfods

  • Professional Development Workshops.  

Qualified and accredited affiliates can also be involved in the development and promotion of music generally under the Institute’s banner.


  • Copy of current CV plus copies of education certificates/degrees verifiable Referees 

  • Music subjects taught including Music Therapy, if applicable

  • Your Syllabus / Curriculum and a brief explanation of the methodology utilised

  • WWCC / NCC (compliance checks)

  • ABN and insurance (Certificate of Currency) if in public practice/own school

  • Child Safe Policy

  • Initial registration conferred: Associate status (ACPM)

  • Full Registration is conferred upon completion of Level 1 of the CPM Program
    ​(holders of high level qualifications may be accorded a higher CPE entry designation).​
