Choirs,  Solo Artists, Instrumental Ensembles

Prizes:

  • For Schools:  Participation Certificates & Trophies (Choirs & Ensembles)
  • For Students: Participation Certificates & Medallions (Solo Artists-vocal/instrumental)
  • Scholarships to the Australian Children’s Orchestra and Chorus (String players & Singers)

Rationale:

  • To provide opportunities for primary schools to showcase their Choirs, their Instrumental Ensembles and Solo Artists (Vocal & Instrumental) in performances at the highest possible levels.

  • This is not a typical Eisteddfod nor is it your typical Music Festival. It is intended to utilise a highly competitive format under a Games type atmosphere.  Schools are encouraged to hold trials in order to select their most talented students.  It is these students that will represent their schools at the Masters International 'Primary Schools' Music Games.  In this way, students will ‘qualify’ for entry.

  • The Music Games places both the school and the competitor at the forefront of the entire competition; it is an Open Competition.  Further, it provides a forum for students to fully undertake activities that follow the design of the Victorian Curriculum Arts and which is based on two overarching principles;  students learn: as artist and as audience and through making and responding.

  • As students train and prepare as a group and as solo artists for the Music Games they will be challenged by the Curriculum’s four strands: Explore and Express Ideas, Practices, Present and Perform, and Respond and Interpret.  They learn as artist and as audience as well as learning through making and responding.
