Invites musicians (ages: 14 - 26) to audition for its next season

Instrumentation

NYO - Australia is now accepting applications for the 2018 season on all standard orchestral instruments, including harp.

Min. Standard:  Grade 8

Candidates will be notified for audition during Term 4 2017

(please bring a 'resume' plus testamentary and a recent video to the audition)



All applicants to the NYO - Australia are required to record a series of audition videos that include the content outlined below. Each performance segment must be recorded in one take with no editing  you may select the best of several takes). 

Video:

  • Introduction:  Before performing your solo selections, please include an introduction stating your name, your major instrument and the title of the solo works you have chosen. You may also perform on a minor instrument within the time limit, if desired. 


  • Two (2)  Contrasting Solo Pieces: Your choice; maximum time limit 10 minutes. A work with piano accompaniment is preferred (except if you are applying on harp, orchestral keyboard, or percussion)


Citizenship

NYO - Australia is open to all Australian citizens or permanent residents (PR holders) only.  Visitor Visas are also acceptable after the Citizenship quota has been filled and only if there is a vacancy. 

Age Limit

You must be between the ages of 14 and 26 years by January 1, 2018.
