  • Candidates applying for Music Therapy need to hold complementary qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
  • Candidates need to show the development of an appropriate repertoire for various situations.
  • Demonstrate and discuss a program that seeks to improve a person's health, functioning, and well-being via a therapeutic setting utilizing music interventions as the primary tool via video presentation. E.g., increasing social skills, interaction, and communication (verbal and non-verbal), whilst seeking to develop cognitive awareness, and gain sensory-motor skills, that promote relaxation: 
  • Candidates should be well-acquainted with the Goals of Music Therapy. Music Therapy in Practice, Sound Therapy, Music Therapy Techniques & Applications, and Music Therapy Research
  • Candidates enter at the L.Mus. level; pre-requisite the A.Mus. in performance. 
  •  Any style or genre may be applied to this Series. ​


Licentiate in Music Therapy & Pedagogical Science: L.Mus. (MusT & Ped.Sc.)

Pre-requisite: AMus. ACPM, plus 1 - 2 years of study in Music Therapy, Counselling, Psychology, or related fields.

Requirements: 15 pieces from your repertoire.

  • Candidates should include performances on other instruments (eg., guitar and voice, keyboard, percussion et al)
  • Candidates may also perform their own compositions or arrangements. 
  • Any style or genre may be applied to this Series. 
  • Discuss via video presentation how their program assists various client situations including a discussion of:
  • Goals of Music Therapy
  • Music Therapy in Practice
  • Sound Therapy
  • ​Music Therapy Techniques & Applications
  • Music Therapy Research​
  • Candidates are required to develop a Teaching Syllabus that includes all aspects of Music Therapy in promoting wellness, alleviating pain, managing stress, expression, memory enhancement, communication, and physical rehabilitation. ​
  • Video Presentation: Provide explanations of how and why the syllabus and the methodology were developed demonstrating practice-specific approaches.   


Master of Music Therapy & Pedagogical Science: MMT & Ped.Sc. 

Pre-requisites: LMus. CPM, plus a bachelor's degree in Music Therapy, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.

Requirements: 20 pieces from your repertoire.

  • Candidates should include performances on other instruments (eg., guitar and voice, keyboard, percussion et al)
  • Candidates may also perform their own compositions and/or arrangements. 
  • Any style or genre may be applied to this Series. 
  • Candidates are required to develop a Teaching Syllabus that includes all aspects of Advanced ​Music Therapy Techniques & Applications, and Music Therapy Research.
  • Video Presentation: Provide explanations of how and why the syllabus and the methodology were developed demonstrating practice-specific approaches.   ​


Fellowship in Music Therapy & Pedagogical Science:  FMII
Fellow - Masters International Institute
 
Pre-requisites: MMT. FCPM 

Requirements: 25 pieces from your repertoire

  • Candidates should include performances on other instruments (eg., guitar and voice, keyboard, percussion et al)
  • Candidates may also perform their own compositions or arrangements. 
  • Discuss via video presentation how their program assists various client situations utilizing more creative/advanced techniques and applications.
  • Any style or genre may be applied to this Series. ​
  • Teaching Syllabus: Candidates are to review the Music Therapy syllabus devised for the entire Tertiary Series and make major or minor modifications that demonstrate other ways to study the subject.
  • Teaching Methodology: Provide a paper giving consideration to the approaches utilized.
  • Candidates are required to present a CV in support of their application. 


Senior Fellowship in Music Therapy & Pedagogical Science: - SFMII
Senior Fellow - Masters International Institute 

Pre-requisites: FMII. MCD plus a master's degree in Music Therapy, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.

Requirements: 30 pieces from your repertoire

  • Candidates should include performances on other instruments (eg., guitar and voice, keyboard, percussion et al)
  • Candidates may also perform their own compositions or arrangements. 
  • Discuss via video presentation of a more developed program and how it assists various client situations utilizing more creative/advanced techniques and applications.
  • Teaching Syllabus: Candidates are to reflect on their Musicology syllabus devised for the entire Tertiary Series and continue to make major or minor modifications that demonstrate other ways to study the subject.
  • Teaching Methodology: Provide a paper giving consideration to the approaches utilized.
  • Any style or genre may be applied to this Series. ​
  • Candidates are required to present a CV in support of their application.
